Paisley 1st soild food

So now that Paisley is 4 months, we decided to begin the process of eating solid foods. We started out with rice ceral and pears.

Shes not sure what to think of it, but keeps opening her mouth for more. :)

Paisleys 1st Christmas

For Christmas we went down to Arizona and visited Ryan's family. We spent Christmas Eve at Sean and Jens house. It was so much fun!! We had a yummy traditional buffet dinner, played the white elephant game, the kids acted out the nativity (Paisley was baby Jesus), and did the pass around game with the kids. Ryan even got to help Sean put together some Christmas presents for Alexis and Landon.

Christmas day we were with Ryan's family and this year we all decided that instead of giving everyone presents, we would draw a name and make that person an ornament. It was a lot of fun to see the different ornaments. This is Aunt Melanie is helping Paisley with her stocking.

The next day was my sister-in-law Liz's birthday and so we all went ice skating.

This is Ryan and I preparing for the winter olympics couples figure skating. I can just see the gold medal now!!!

The drive back took us 9 hours!!! Right outside of Wikieup an RV caught on fire and they closed the road for about an hour. We were only 10 cars back, so we took a picture.

Our next road block was at the dam. That was about a 2 and a half hour delay. Good times good times!!!

The Black Pearl

I knew when I married Ryan that he was talented in many different areas, but I had no idea that I married the lego building king. For Halloween he built Disney's "Haunted Mansion" and did an amazing job at that. Well he had all last week off of work and so he decided he wanted to build "The Black Pearl" from Pirates of the Carribean. All he did is print a picture online and BAM he creates the ship almost to the very last detail. These pictures do not do it any justice.

The Captain's Room

He built the two staircases going up the sides.

He thought it would be fun to set up his lego guys on it and create the actual ride at Disneyland. This is the part where Barbosa is attacking the Landlubbers. See the people on the boats who are on the ride?? Amazing isn't it??

I'm such a proud wife!! :)

Life Savors!!!!

I would like to dedicate this post to the men and women who create such wonderful inventions such as the swing

and this delightful lay and play toy that mesmorizes Paisley for hours.

These really have made it possible for me to get things done around the house. :)

Paisley's 3 Months Old Already?!?!?!

I can not believe that Paisley is already 3 months old. A lot of people told me that the time was going to fly by and now I know what they were talking about. So in honor of the 3 month milestone, I thought it would be fun to list some of the things that we have noticed about Paisley since she was born.

1. She has been smiling since she was a month old
2. She has been holding her head up since she was 2 weeks old
3. She loves her dad and smiles almost every time she sees him.
4. She is a huge fighter when it comes to going to sleep
5. She HATES her carseat after about 20 minutes
6. She is still curious about Raja and Mogley and gives them weird looks when they walk by her. I'm pretty sure she is thinking "what weird looking humans".
7. She loves it when grandma Jeanne plays patty cake, this little piggy, and touch your nose with your feet games with her.
8. She loves her baths and loves to splash and kick and get water all over her mom and dad.
9. She has started to do her "baby talk" which makes sense to her, but is totally greek to us.
10. She is obsessed with her hands and always has to have them by her face or in her mouth, preferably in her mouth.
11. She sucked her thumb within hours after being born.
12. She has beautiful big blue eyes and tons of hair
13. She likes looking in mirrors and smiles when she sees her reflection
14. She likes Ryan to hold her in the football position. I have pictures of him holding her like that on the blog.
15. She likes to look at the tv when its on. Ryan on the other hand does not like her to watch tv, so we try to put her in positions away from the tv, but she arches her back and twists her head to try and see the tv.
16. She is starting to roll to her side and I'm sure within a couple of weeks, she will be rolling over on a regular basis.
17. She has very long eyelashes.
18. She is a houdini when it comes to kicking off her shoes and socks. I can put her socks on and then turn around and grab something and by the time I turn back around to her, they are kicked off.
19. If she stops sucking her binki and focuses intently at you, she is doing something bad in her diaper.
20. She is an elevation baby in the fact that she likes people to be standing when they hold her.
21. At about 2 1/2 months old she had her first little taste of ice cream and sweet potatoes.
22. She is a huge morning person. When you wake her up, she totally smiles a big grin at you.
23. She almost never cries when you change her diaper.
24. She likes to "people watch". When people walk by her she will turn her head to see where they are going.
25. Last but not least, she is a huge blessing in our lives and we are so lucky to have her.

Bath Time....

Paisley LOVES taking a bath. As soon as we put her in the bath she starts to splash with her hands and feet. We have learned to not fill the bath up quite as full as we used to with water because of all the splashing she does. At the end of the bath there is more water on the floor then in the bath. :)

Hats...

Its starting to get really cold up at the cabin and so when I take Paisley out, I put a hat on her. My mom and I found this hat and glove set at Target and thought it was so cute. It's a little bit big, but she will grow into it.

This hat was made by a lady in our old ward named Judy Hardy. It fits perfect on Paisley and keeps her head and ears nice and warm.

I always wanted to have a little girl that I can dress up with hats and bows. :)

Turkey Day

For Thanksgiving this year we went over to my brother Kris's house. My parents and my brother Sean and his family also joined in on the fun. Sue made an awesome dinner. Instead of cooking the turkey in the oven, they had it deep fried and it was sooooooooooooooo good!!!!! So good in fact that this was all that was left of it.

After the yummy dinner, we were "stuffed" (no pun intended) and watched the traditional Alexander Thanksgiving  movie "Christmas Vacation".

That movie never gets old. Who can forget the lines: "Is Rusty still in the Navy?", "Is the house on fire Clark?", "She wrapped up her dang cat", "Dad I can't feel my legs", "I'm just blousing...browsing", "The crapper is full". :)  Any ways, Jen was so nice to bring up her camera and have another photoshoot with Paisley. I brought a couple different Christmas outfits for Paisley to model. I took these pictures with my camera before the photoshoot. The professional pictures by Jen are to come later.

It was a really fun and yummy weekend and it was so nice to have Sean and his family there.
