Redlands California

Last weekend we loaded up the kiddos and drove over to Redlands California for Uncle Bill and Aunt Kim's sealing in the beautiful Redlands temple. The night before we went to the sealing, we celebrated Alicias birthday 29th :) birthday. We ate El Burrito for dinner and enjoyed some yummy cupcakes and brownies for birthday dessert. It was so much fun to hang out with Beth and the girls. I meant to take some pictures, but I left my camera at the hotel. :(

The next day we got up early and went to the sealing. It was SO great. Mel was nice enough to watch Paisley and Austin for us. I love going to sealings because 1. they bring back feelings from my own sealing to Ryan and 2. you get free marriage advice from the sealer. Bonus! :)

This is a fun picture for me because I have another picture of us 3 (mel, alicia and myself) standing in the same spot 8 years ago when we went to the Redlands temple openhouse.

After the sealing, we went back to Bill and Kims house for a luncheon. They have a really nice pool that Paisley didn't mind getting in...fully dressed. We didn't know there was going to be swimming at the luncheon, so we didn't bring any swimsuits. So poor Ry had to hold on to one of her hands the whole time because she can't swim on her own yet.

After the luncheon was over, Ryan, Uncle Bill and Uncle Tom all went down to the Route 66 carshow in San Bernardino. They said it was really cool. Here are a couple of the cars they saw.

While the boys were at the carshow, us girls (and Austin)munched on some leftovers and watched a very HAPPY movie. ;)Anyways, it was so much fun to be able to come to Cali and visit Ryan's family. We really miss them.

Midway Take 2

Last week we helped move my parents to Midway Utah. Where is that you say? Yep, Midway Utah. Where is Midway you ask? Well Midway is a cute little town next to Heber and Park City. It has lots of green trees and beautiful wild flowers and almost everywhere you look there are streams. For those of you who live in Arizona or Nevada where green and streams are rarely seen, I recommend you venturing up to Midway to see what you are missing out on.

I don't know if you can see it or not in this picture, but the speed limit sign says 80 mph. 80!!! After St. George the speed limit goes up to 80 mph, which in my world means 85-90 mph. How great is that??

Fun pictures of the kids in the car. They were actually really good on the way there and back. My prayers were answered. :)

My parents new house is really nice. One of Paisleys favorite features was the master bathtub and she had no problem testing it out for her grandparents.

This is Ryan after unloading the huge moving truck. Austin didn't pull his weight around with unloading, so I am not sure why he was tired too. :)

The main event of the week was Swiss Days. Midway was founded by the Swiss, so every year Midway puts on Swiss Days for 2 days. A 100,000 people come to it. Its pretty much a huge craft/decorations fair.

It also has yummy food and fun activities for the kids to do. It even has a cute parade on one of the days and there is always some group singing/performing on the main square. It is really fun. Here are two of the funny/unique things I saw.
Utencil holder thingys. They took forks, spoons and knives and made these cute holder people out of them. Some were salt and pepper holders, some were napkin holders, some were cell phone holders etc. Very creative.

This was a lemon drink they were serving. They took a lemon and cut off the top of it and then put a hard candy stick in it as a straw. We didn't get one because the line was kind of long, but I did get a picture of one.

I went back and forth between my parents house and the fair at least 6 times because I loved it so much. I can't wait to go back to it next year.
