This last weekend, Ryan and I decided that it would be fun to go and see a show on the strip. We have only been to a couple different shows since we have lived here and seeing that we are not sure how much longer we are going to be living here, we decided to take advantage of the local special for Viva Elvis.
The show was really good. It was about the life of Elvis from when he was a teenager to just before he died. They had real pictures and video's from his life and all of his songs in the show were of him singing them (not an impersonator or singer). It was a Cirque Du Soleil show, so there were a lot of acrobat performers. It was really entertaining and fun to learn more about "The King". Did you know that Elvis had a twin brother that was stillborn? Anyways,my favorite part was where they had all these different trampolines set up in different ways (flat, side, angle) and about 6 guys bouncing from each them. They did all sorts of crazy stunts.
Overall the show was really good!
So now that I told you about the show, let me tell you about what Ryan and I are now calling "The Great Camera Scare of 2011" that happened while we were at the show. :) When the show started, I took a picture of the cool stage set up that they did for the first song. A couple seconds later, an usher walked by our section and looked around with his flashlight. I noticed him, but didn't know why he was looking around. A couple songs later, I took another picture. This time 2 ushers came looking in our section. Once again, I was oblivious to what they were doing. It wasn't until the 3rd picture I took, when about 5 ushers came very quickly to our section, that Ry and I both realized they were there for me. We avoided eye contact and just kept watching the performance. They were all looking in my direction, but apparently they couldn't pinpoint exactly where the flash came from, so they left, but one of the users stayed close by and just glared at our section for the rest of the show. After a couple minutes, I slowly put my camera back in my purse and enjoyed the rest of the show. After the show I wanted to take a picture of me and the old guy usher who was glaring at us for the blog, but decided not to just incase he got smart and figured out that I was the camera ghost. You probably had to be there to be able to see just how funny the whole thing was, but Ry and and I got a good laugh about it on the drive home.
