A Merry 2010 Christmas

We had such a great Christmas this year. We went down to Arizona to visit both of our families. For Christmas Eve we went over to Ryan and Courtneys house for a traditional Alexander Christmas Eve celebration. It was such a nice and fun evening and we are so grateful for Ryan and Courtney (while 8 months preggers!) opening their home to our family. We first started out with a yummy appetizer spread (this year Grandma Jeanne added fresh crab legs!! My favorite!).
We then moved on to having the kiddos act out the Nativity scene. Grandpa Bob went all out and painted the stable back drop on cardboard boxes, just like he did when we were little kids. Paisley got to be the angel. Alexis and Blake were wisemen. Kenzie was Mary and Landon was Joseph. Paisley tried to steal baby Jesus a couple times, but Kenzie was a good Mary and protected her baby.
After the Nativity, we did the kids pass around game.
Paisley got a princess set that had fancy shoes, jewelry and a purse (she loves purses)!
After the kids pass around game, we moved on to the talent show. My brother Ryan put together this really cool christmas movie trivia dvd. My dad painted cute pictures for the girls and Sean told an "interesting" story to the kids. My Ryan decided that he wanted our family to "perform" the little drummer boy song together, so I (with a little help from Paisley at the beginning) played the piano and Ryan did the drums and sang the song. For not practicing that much at all, we did pretty good. We are thinking about taking our show on the road. :)
We then moved on to the adult white elephant (funny/nice) game. Some of the classic funny "gifts" were the tons of empty dvd cases and the "Whats your poo telling you?" book. My dad was kind enough to read the headings of all the chapters in the book. NASTY! :)
After the white elephant game, Santa made an apperance outside and looked in the windows to check and see if the kids were asleep and that was the signal for everyone to get home so that Santa could come and deliver his presents. :)

We spent Christmas Day with the Mormann's. Everyone came over to my mother-in-laws house in the morning and we emptied our fun/yummy stockings. We then moved on to opening presents. As usual, Paisley made out like a bandit this year.
Paisley got her own pink chair (which she LOVES). She also got spoiled with some really cute clothes and fun toys.
I love this picture because the movie Melanie is holding up is "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" and Melanie is holding her thumb up like she is hitchhiking. :)
After presents, we had a yummy french toast breakfast and then we watched some movies and played some games until it was time for an even yummier turkey dinner. Overall it was such a nice Christmas holiday and we love that we got to spend it with our families.

Christmas Legos!!

Ryan has really outdone himself this year. He is so talented with legos!!! I thought that his Black Pearl and Haunted Mansion were pretty awesome, but I think his latest creation outdid those. He told me a couple months ago that he was going to build the Northpole and the Polar Express out of legos and he TOTALLY did. I think Lego needs to start designing kits after his creations. So for your viewing pleasure, I give you the Northpole!!
This is what it looks like during the day.
This is what it looks like at night.
The blue side is the elves workshop
Candy Canes
The elves hard at work. Don't disturb them, they are busy!
The brown side is where the reindeer live. There is also a cute snowman out front. There is an elf coming out of the chimney to say goodbye to Santa. Mrs. Clause and is talking to an elf on the balcony.
This elf is running out to give santa a map so that he doesn't get lost delivering all those toys.
Bye Bye Santa!
The Polar Express
The coal train
The passenger trains.
Nice job Ryan!! This is so AMAZING!!!

Disney Land for Turkey Day!!!

So we went to Disney Land for turkey day. It was so much fun. We went with my parents, Sean and Jen and their kids and Meg and Ty! The weather was perfect and to everyones surprise, it was NOT crowded! We didn't have to wait that long for any of the rides. The food was wonderful as always. This is what we ate...corndog, pretzel, hot chocolate, toffee, pickels (thanks jen), fruit, ice cream and popcorn. I have gone to Disney land a lot of times in my life and I have neve once been on the train "ride". I actually never knew it was a ride. I thought it was just a train that took you from one side of the park to the other. I did not realize there were "adventures" along the way. It is my brother Sean's favorite ride, so we went on it and it is really cool. Did you know you see dinasaurs on that ride?? Anyways, we also went and visited santa clause and Paisley took a really cute picture with him that we are going to use as our christmas card, so I am not going to post it. But here are a couple pics from the trip.

Cousins
Papa, Uncle Sean and Paisley waiting to get on the ride. Check out Paisley sweet fur coat.

This is picture of the very cool light show that California Adventure has called "World of Color". It is like Fantasmic and the Las Vegas Bellagio Fountains combined, but on steriods. I didn't get pictures of Sean totally beating me on the Toy Story ride. Nice job Sean. I'm going to practice with my at home game so that next time I will be ready for you. :) Overall the trip was so much fun. Thanks mom and dad and Sean and Jen for a very memorable Turkey Day! I'm thinking we will definitly go back there on a future Turkey Day.

Halloween 2010

We went to AZ for part of Halloween. We first went to my mother-in-laws trunk or' treat. FYI... I LOVE trunk or' treats!!! What a brilliant idea.

Here is my sister-in-law Alicia and I with our cool spray painted hair and way cool eye lashes
 and ofcourse little Tinkerbell.
This is Paisley trunk or' treating her first car.

Paisley and her favorite person..Dadddddyyy!!

The Whole Gang (minus Mel, sorry mel, theres always next year)

The princess and her "loot" from the trunk or' treat. Ryan and I "inspected" her candy and took all the ones out that we didn't think she would like and ate them for her. We are such good parents. :)

After we did Grandma Mormann's trunk or' treat, we went to my brother Ryan's trunk or' treat and met up with my brother Rob's family and my parents. Rob's girls are growing up so fast! I really miss seeing them. From left to right...Alyssa, Brooklyn and Ashley. They all dressed up as Alice in Wonderland characters. Can you guess who the witch is?? Yep thats Grandma Jeanne or "JiJi" as paisley likes to say.

Ok, so I am SHOCKED that Paisley sat on my mom's lap and even recognized who she was when JiJi looked so "pretty". Paisley thought she was pretty funny and tried to take her nose and teeth.
We drove back to Vegas on Sunday morning (which was actually Halloween) and my sister-in-law Sue invited us over to their house for yummy soup and wassil and some freaking hilarious "entertainment".

Ok so my brother Kris found some nerd glasses and a baby doll and started acting like a mental patient who thought his baby was real. So when the treat or treaters came to the door he would say "Baby gives you candy" and he would have the baby "hand out" the candy and then he would say "Merry Christmas" and then shut the door before the people had a chance to even figure out if he was being funny or if he was "special". I took a video of it and am having trouble downloading it, but as soon as I get it downloaded, it is going on the blog!!!  Thanks for a memorable Halloween Kris!! I have not laughed that hard in a long time!! :)

This is some of our Halloween decorations at our apt. Our apt has vaulted ceilings and a very cool planter shelf.

Ryan can seriously build ANYTHING out of legos, so here is his skeleton. It actually lights up!

Wait until you see his Christmas creation for our planter shelf!!
