Ok so I wish I could begin this post by saying how great I am at following through with any of the things in the title of this post, but sadly, oh so sadly I am not. Lets start with resolutions...like most January 1st, I write out a list of about 3 to 5 goals to accomplish and by January 2nd I have already forgotten the goals and have moved on to starting projects that I give up on by January 3rd. January 4th is spent recovering from the previous 2 days of totally slacking as a human being. So this year I decided to write "no fail" goals for 2011:

So far I am still on track to accomplishing these goals. Amazing I know. :) Good news is that I graduate in May and baby boy mormann is due in June, so from July to December I am free and clear of the pressures of goals. :)
Next on the agenda...hobbies!!! My poor Poor POOR husband!!! He has been so patient with me and my ever changing hobby ideas. Yep I said ideas because I never really start them. For example, one year I wanted to learn how to sew, so for Christmas Ryan bought me a nice sewing machine that I used once and is now in storage. Then I decided I wanted to read a different novel a month, well apparently my attention span disagreed with that hobby (poor half read books on the shelves). Lastly I decided I wanted to take up cooking. So for a different Christmas, Ryan bought me all these cool cooking utencils. I even got out all the new recipes I have collected over the years and organized them so that I could start cooking them.

For about a week I cooked a different recipe every night. It was actually really fun, but then I had Paisley and then I got lazy and well those recipes are now sitting next to the lonely novels which are on top of the day used sewing machine box.
So this rant brings us to the present hobby I am wishing to pursue. The other day I was sitting in church and the lesson was on food storage. I got really motivated to learn how to rotate my food storage and to learn how to cook new food storage recipes. So I pulled out all my food storage from under the bed to see what I had to work with and I got this cool cookbook:

Anyways, my goal for this hobby is to cook at least 1 thing new from this cookbook every 2 weeks (I was going to say every week, but with my track record, I better stick with 2 weeks). As motivation, I am going to post this meal on the blog for all to see. This week I decided to kick off my food storage hobby with doing a taste test between potato flakes and potato pearls.

After the taste test, Ryan and I decided that we really liked the potato flakes better than the potato pearls because you are actually using real milk and butter when you make the flakes and the pearls has the flavorings already added. We felt the potato pearls had the "instant potato" taste and the flakes tasted more natural.
Anyways, I thought I would end this posting with some cute pictures of the cutest little girl I know.
