Happy Fathers Day Ryan!

I have been sooooooo lucky to have Ryan in my life. He is the greatest husband and dad. I have also been really lucky because Ryan was able to take a week and a half off of work after Austin was born, so it has been nice to have him around to help with Paisley as we all get used to Austin. :)

Ryan's Father's day started out really good. He got to sleep in (which is a big deal these days now that we have a newborn who wakes up a lot at night and a 2 year old who wakes up very early). Paisley and I made him a yummy breakfast and lunch and then after church we went up to my parents house for an even yummier dinner. Kris and his family came and we all had a really fun time.

Territory

The word territory has different definitions. One of the definitions that seems appropriate for what is happening in the Mormann household is this one:

Territory: an area inhabited and DEFENDED by an individual (Paisley)

Here is Austin in Austins swing

About 2 minutes later and 1 near death experience for Austin (aka being sat on), here is Paisley in Paisley's (or as she so nicely put it) "MY swing".

For the most part she really is nice and gentle with Austin and always comes up to him and rubs his bald little head and says "hi baby", but there have been some "territory" moments these last couple of days. :)

For your viewing pleasure, here are just a couple recent pics of Austin and Paisley.

Baby #2 Update...

So about 2 weeks ago my dr noticed that baby #2 was lower than he should be in my tummy and that I was starting to dialate, so he warned me that the baby could come "any day now". Well 2 weeks later, he still has not come (which is good because it gave him more time to "cook" :) ), but my dr decided on Monday that if he doesn't come today or tomorrow, then he is going to induce me this Friday!! We are so excited to finally meet him.

The last couple of days we have been pulling out all the baby toys we used with Paisley and Paisley has LOVED being able to play with them again.

She is so dang cute!! :)

Happy Little Helper

I have been so nervous about having 2 kids under 2. A lot of people have been telling me that Paisley will be a helper for when the new baby comes and at first I just said things like "yeah, sure, right, whatever, have you met my daughter?, I don't think so", but now I am actually starting to believe it after witnessing these two events.

A couple weeks ago, Paisley and I helped to feed 100 missionaries for their zone conference. After it was all over, I got out a broom to sweep, but Paisley wanted to do it instead.

The missionaries kept offering to do the sweeping, but there was NO way Paisley was giving up that broom.

The next event happened last week. I was cleaning the apartment and I left the vacuum unattended for just a second to go pick up some things that were in the way of my vacuuming path and Paisley just walked right up to the vacuum and started vacuuming all on her own.

So she might actually work out as a "happy little helper" after all. I'll let you know how she does as soon as this baby decides he wants to come. :)

The Apple Doesn't Fall Far From The Tree...

My parents have a video of me, at 3 years old mind you, laborously scrubbing a wall with an SOS pad that I "allegedly" colored on with crayon. There is still no proof (eye witness, video etc) that I was the culpret to this crime. Its all circumstantial that the crayon marks in question where from my personal crayon supply and that some of the marks were of the letter "B, which in this case I can assure you does not have anything to do with my name. All of my brothers had access to those crayons and they are all boys and the word boy starts with the letter "B". Coincidence...I think not!! Anyways...needless to say, I was the one who had to clean it up. Everytime my parents pull out that "child labor" video, I protest that I had to scrub a wall at that young of age, and then my mom always says "just you wait, one day you will have a kid that does the exact same thing and you will want to make them scrub it off too to teach them a lesson". Well after 26 years, that 'one day' is finally here.

The crime scene:

Same situation...we did not actually see Paisley make these pretty drawings on the wall, but I am pretty sure Ryan and I didn't do it. So I know what you are thinking...did you make Paisley scrub it off like you had to do when you were little?? The answer is simple...I didn't have the heart to make her scrub it off because I didn't want her to have a 26 year long grudge like I do against "alleged incidents". However, if I had caught her in the act, then yes, I would of made her scrub it off.:)
